🚴‍♀️ Raven Ride - 11 🚴

Sunday 12th October, starting at 10.30am from The Raven.

Recommended by a fellow dog walker and extended a bit to get the miles up.  The cafe at Dunham Barns is supposed to very good and cyclist friendly.  Extended to Sankey Valley trail (possible Maltings Stop).

Starting from the Raven at 10.30am. Heading over Wharburton bridge to check the new tarmac so will be less of a bone rattler. Handing a left just down the other side and making our way over to Dunham Massey with a stop at Dunham Barns cafe.  From the cafe we'll be heading down the trans pennine to the sankey valley trail, up the brew behind B&Q and back to the Raven on the road.

There are some climbs in this but it isn't a race so we'll all stick together.  It's a good relaxed ride with a couple of heart rate increasers but they aren't long.

Ride is about 30 miles (there's a possible stop at the Maltings pub on the valley trail, they do good coffee and cakes there too).

This ride will suit all levels of fitness, it's not a race.  Younger riders with road awareness welcome, we do hit a few roads that could be a bit busy (mainly the A57).

We carry a few spares and tools on every ride with spare inner tubes but these are mainly for standard wheel sizes. 27.5, 29, 700c and 650b along with puncture kits and pumps. If you have an odd wheel size it is advisable to bring along a spare tube or 2.

The ride is open to anyone who fancies a trek out, Road/Gravel/MTB/Hybrid/e-bikes, just turn up before the set off time.

The ride should take around 4 hours with the coffee (beer) stop(s) and a final beer (coffee) stop back at the Raven.
